BÜFA donates to the Wild Animal Rescue Center in Rastede

Support for regional wildlife

BÜFA held a successful fundraising campaign for the first time at this year's Oldenburg State Tournament. The proceeds, which the Oldenburg-based family business in the chemical industry rounded up to 2,000 euros, went to the wildlife sanctuary in Rastede. The team there primarily takes care of injured and needy wild animals, rehabilitating them so that they can usually be returned to the wild.

All competition loops of the Oldenburg State Tournament were also donation loops this year. For each loop returned by the participating riders, BÜFA donated an amount to the wildlife sanctuary. The financial support is an important contribution to the protection of the native animal world. The sanctuary cares for a variety of animals, including birds such as birds of prey and owls, but also hedgehogs, squirrels and other mammals, as well as exotic animals that require professional help. On average, the sanctuary takes in around 2,000 animals a year. The animals that are brought in often require intensive care, whether it be after injuries caused by accidents or other human interventions in their habitat.

With this donation, BÜFA and the Oldenburg State Tournament are drawing attention to the valuable work of the sanctuary in order to raise awareness for the protection of wild animals in our region. The Wild Animal Sanctuary Rastede makes a significant contribution to the rescue and reintroduction of numerous animals that would otherwise not survive. At the same time, BÜFA is emphasizing its commitment to sustainable projects in the region with this donation.
