EcoVadis
External impulses are particularly important to BÜFA on our path to holistic sustainability. We are transparent about our successes and unutilised potential. That is why we have our sustainability activities assessed by the independent rating company EcoVadis. Customers of the BÜFA Group can view the EcoVadis evaluation form and thus receive transparent documentation. In 2023, the BÜFA Group was awarded the gold medal by EcoVadis and, with 73 out of 100 points, ranks among the top 4% of companies assessed in its industry. EcoVadis evaluates companies in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. BÜFA received an above-average rating in the environmental area in particular, in terms of energy consumption, emissions and other environmental issues. The rating supports BÜFA in achieving its sustainability goals and improving its sustainability performance. EcoVadis, founded in Paris in 2007, is the world's largest provider of sustainability ratings with over 100,000 rated companies.
In dialogue with stakeholders
BÜFA attaches great importance to transparent communication and active dialogue with various stakeholders. We want to promote knowledge and understanding of the processing and possible applications of chemical products among employees, customers, the media and community organisations, among others. The company offers a variety of dialogue formats - including plant tours - for media representatives, citizens and school classes to provide insights into production, high safety standards and services offered. In addition, BÜFA organises an annual Future Day for school pupils to introduce them to the company and various training occupations. In-house trade fairs at BÜFA Cleaning Germany and BÜFA Composite Systems also help to strengthen the bonds between international colleagues. A comprehensive customer and employee survey was conducted to gain insights into brand loyalty and awareness for effective corporate branding.
Investments in the future
In 2023, the BÜFA Group expanded its business activities by extending its site in Hude, building a new facility in Almelo, opening a new branch in Austria and investing in Sweden. With additional space and modernised facilities, BÜFA is responding to market requirements and optimising its logistics and international service network. The new building in Almelo, including a PV system, is used for more efficient storage. The takeover of JKS's distribution activities in Austria strengthens BÜFA's role in the composites sector and expands its market reach in Europe. These developments are important measures for sustainable growth.
